Marrakech

Here are a few snaps from our weekend in Marrakech. I looked absolutely disgusting throughout the whole weekend so there aren't many pics of me!

I have mixed feelings about Marrakech, I had a good time however I don't think I would ever go back. It is a completely different world and at times I felt a bit uncomfortable and actually scared! I had a little run in with a local and he really put me in my place! Also I'm upset because I didn't buy anything as nothing was as nice or as cheap as I had hoped.

On the other hand highlights of the trip were:

  • Freshly squeezed orange juice every morning
  • Staying in a gorgeous Riad
  • 5 hours of pure relaxation in Les Bains de Marrakech
  • Spending time with my amazing boyfriend
  • Getting a stamp in my passport
Lowlights were: everything else!

    I'm backk

    Hola guapas!

So I haven't blogged for a really long time

Apart from my amazing birthday in Paris I have been living  the most boring life known to man! All I've been doing is working and I am soooo bored at the moment. But hey I have one more month of dullness and then 3 months of SUMMER! I cannot wait! Seeing my friends, drinking cocktails, chillin at the beach with my boyfriend... ahhh so many things to look forward to! Not to mention summer clothes!!!:]

    Ok lets talk about Paris.....

So we got there on Friday afternoon and we went to the hotel to explore and chill for a bit. That night we rode the lift thingy up to the Sacré-Coeur, had dinner and then looked around. I was so tired because it's a near 3 hour journey just to get to Madrid airport from where I live and then with the plane journey on top I was cream crackered! So we headed home pretty early to sleep.

Saturday morning we woke up (late) and did a spot of shopping, where I bought my outfit for the day. Then in a rush we got back to the hotel and then rushed back out to the Ritz for lunch! We missed our reservation because I took so long to get ready but it was ok because we ate in the bar rather than the main restaurant (it was the Ritz none the less).

Also Saturday afternoon André gave me my birthday present (as if taking me to Paris wasn't enough!). It was a beautiful black diamond ring that he had made from a diamond that he has had for years! It's absolutely stunning! By far the most beautiful present I have ever received!

Saturday night we headed to the Eiffel Tour for dinner. It was amazing! The food was absolutely perfect, I even got a little birthday cake :] It was a perfect night and a perfect way to see in my birthday!!

I am aware I look like a gremlin

    <3

Sunday morning I woke up and it was my birthday! I was finally 21! I was soooo excited because I would be spending the day in Disneyland! :] ......

#o#MG Disneyland was fantastic, it wasn't that busy so there were hardly any  queues. I think we must have gone on space mountain at least 5 times, one after another!
    I had a perfect birthday!

Then two weeks later I went to England for a weekend to see my family and have a birthday re-enactment! That was really nice as I have really missed my family being away for so long! And I got some lovely presents too.

So that was my birthday, the only excitement I've had in months! As I've said, I have been living a super boring life and working like I a crazy woman, but it all ends soon and I cannot wait to have a life again! I haven't been to a club since February! WTF! I feel like a Grandma! I can't wait to get my life back!

This weekend I'm off to Marrakesh so I'll have lots to share next week :]

    Lots of love xxx

    Little life update

    Hola!

So I am now on my second part of my year abroad. I'm chillin in Castilla la Mancha (Spain) in a little village. Ok so the village is a bit quiet, not much to do at all.

Windmills is pretty much all this village has to offer

So before I start here are a few pics from a weekend I spent in Madrid with the boyf.

    Best lunch ever @ Spott

RIP blackberry :( (it got stolen the w/e after

I'm working as a language assistant at a high school and I'm loving it! My students are soooooo frickin cute! I teach 12-18 year olds and the occasional teacher. I love teaching at the school but the town is a bit blah! It's gorgeous and people are friendly but I miss my friends & boyfriend. Luckily my uni housemate is living in Madrid doing the same thing as me so at the weekends I have been going up to see her. Without her my life would be sooo boring! Thankfully my boyf is coming this week and then I'll be going back to Porto for the weekend and then from then on I'm going back and forth between Porto, Spain and England every weekend until may!

I have to tell you something really exciting! (all 15 of you ha) At the end of the month it's my birthday and I'm going to be 21 :] (This isn't even the exciting bit)...

So I was looking at Sophie's thelittlestthings.com blog and her pictures from her trip to Paris and it really made me want to go, so I hinted to my amazinggg boyfriend that I wanted to spend my birthday in Paris and he has booked an amazing parisienne adventure, filled with amazing lunches and dinners, and a trip to Disneyland! :]

I am soooooo excited! I haven't been to France since I was like... 8 and the last time I went to Disney Land was when I was 6 and my parents lost me for about an hour! I think that experience alone mentally prepared me for my year abroad (14 years later).

Now let me talk about my woe...

So I'm on a no heat diet. Meaning no hair straighteners or curling wands. My hair is in the worst condition and is super thin and know its from excessive heat! So i've decided to not straighten my hair until I go to Paris. Now I know I'm living in a small village where noone cares what they look like, but I care! This is soo hard and I am not loving it! But I'm hoping to have lucious locks for my return to Portugal in the summer! So It has to be done!

Does anyone have any tips on how to get my hair back on its A game?

    Love you long time xxx
